Digging for Kisses

Grey

This project was defined by two words: grey and collected. I purchased over 40 pounds of rice and beans, along with a large bag of Hershey's Kisses. I placed a silver spoon on each student's chair. There was silver duct tape on the ground pointing to the bucket reading "Finders Keepers!" My peers came up, at first, one by one, and then in groups. They began searching for some hidden "treasure" in the mix of beans and rice. Once some of the students discovered a Hershey's kiss, they returned to their stools, whereas others kept digging. One interpretation of this piece was how humans search and search for something they want and then they continue to search because they are not fully satisfied.
